X1 Yoga Gen 2 - BIOS chip failure?

Does anyone have information on the X1 Yoga Gen 2 BIOS chip?

I bought a replacement motherboard off ebay as believed mine to have crapped out. Was BIOS locked, and seller explained how to reset the BIOS by shorting SDA and SCL...

... now the motherboard is demonstrating the same characteristics as my first one I deemed bad

lights work (power, thinkpad on lid, charge, etc)

fan turns on for a few seconds when boot

no screen, no screen output

would replaceing the BIOS chip solve the issue?

Re: X1 Yoga Gen 2 - BIOS chip failure?

There is no way to reset the password by shorting any leads.  The password isn't stored in the BIOS chip anyway.  If you short anything, all you might do is ruin the board so it wouldn't work even if you knew the password.
