Re: X1 Yoga Gen 3 Ghost touch

2018-10-04, 13:34 PM

I called in on Sept 15th about the ghost touch problem. Eventually they sent me the wrong part. The onsite tech tells me they ordered a new screen. I wait a week, call in, apperantly no new part was ever ordered. So I'm told I'll have the new screen by Tuesday Oct 2... I call in today on Oct 4 asking if there is a tracking number or anything, nope. I'm told the new screen will not even ship to me by Oct 20th.

Over a month for a new top model in warranty $3k computer? What a let down.

No improvement after the Windows update on my side. The issues comes and goes :-(

I got an update for the Lenovo Display Optimizer today. But fixing the ghost touches is not considered an optimization.

It's time for Lenovo to come up with a solution!

I can confirm that windows 10 octorber update does not fix the issue as I stll get ghost touch when touch screen is enabled. Dissapointing to see that there is still no word about this from lenovo.

They just remoted in to my system and determined that mine is a screen and cable failure. They are going to send a technician out to replace all related screen components on Wednesday of this coming week. Good thing I bought that onsite technician service warranty!

When they replaced my screen, all that changed was the position of the ghost touches...

Hi all,

Does ghost touch seem to occur only on the HDR screen, or on other types too?

From what I've gathered here (albeit a very small sample size), it seems that it is only the HDR screen.  However, if anyone is having the problem with a non-HDR screen, I'd love to know.

Oh that's interesting. The X1 Yoga really does seem like the perfect 2-in-1, however, the varying issues and defects with the model do seem very offputting. Getting FHD is a small price to pay for not having to put up with constant defects (imho).

I would agree, if not for the fact that the non-HDR screen is way less bright. I think 300nits for the FHD, 500nits for the HDR.

It's pity that three months since the beginning of this thread and no response from lenovo whatsoever.

@Someotherguy can we get some clarity or lenovo will remain silent until eventually reaches broader media channel. If that is what is needed happy to contribute to make it happen.
