X1 Yoga Is digitizer resolution related to LCD Resolution?

During a "smackdown" review between an X1 Yoga and a Surface Book it was shown that the SB had smooter (less pixilated) pen strokes.  I noted the SB had a higher resolution screen than the X1 Yoga and I wonder if the digitizer resolution is related to the LCD resolution?

Would a X1 Yoga with a WQHD screen have less pixilated pen strokes than a X1 Yoga with a 1080p screen?

Re: X1 Yoga Is digitizer resolution related to LCD Resolution?

My answer might not help, and it might just be a more complicated way to say "I don't know", but the touch digitizer is a separate device from the LCD panel.  It is very close to the panel and they are sandwiched together, but they are separate.  Pixel density is not related to the number of touch points.
