X1 Yoga OLED - replaced screen unit not working

Hi all,

About 1 month ago I dropped my X1 Yoga on the ground and the screen cracked. I don't have the warranty on this laptop. This is an OLED model and I spent some time finding a proper screen replacement. Now I just received the new unit and very carefully put it in, connected the 2 wires, and tried to turn it on. The laptop boots up with a black screen, keyboard is working, and I can enter Windows and hear the notice voices. But the screen is not turned on, no backlight, no image, although it looks identical to the original screen and is connected in the exact same way.

Any suggestions? P/N is 01AW977.

Re: X1 Yoga OLED - replaced screen unit not working

My guess is that you blew the backlight fuse (on the motherboard) when the screen broke.  Most shops don't do that sort of repair.  I will need a new vocabulary.  OLED screens don't have normal backlights.  I will have to call it the illumination fuse.
