Re: X1 Yoga Touch Screen No Longer Working

Just wanted to add my 2 cents. For some reason when you download firmware upgrade it won't just run (even with lenovo system update, might be that due to antivirus), therefore download it manually then run (file named n1fgf02w.exe) it will place file in "C:\DRIVERS\WIN\WACOMTOUCH", file is "fwupdate.exe". You will need 7zip (http://7zip.org/) to unarchive the files then run under admin rights "WacomUpdate.vbs".

Same thing here: ran Lenovo Systems Update and touch screen stopped working. It gets really annoying now, since I also still have the issue that the X1 Yoga won't wake properly from sleep most of the times... :-/

@akuma: running the vbs script manually (via cscript) doesn't do anything?! how to check the currently installed firmware?

Update: I updated the driver through Device Manager and by clicking the Update Driver button under the Display Driver. My driver is still at 20.19.15.4444 with a driver date of 4/22/2016. After a reboot things seem to now be working fine. It's been working for at least a week.

Re: X1 Yoga Touch Screen No Longer Working

I just received my lenovo yoga x1 with i7,  16 gb ram,  512 gb hard drive.  It was delivered last night and after using for 2h, the touch screen stopped  working.  I called the support and they made me do a battery power cut through BIOS.  However the problem is back again.  After paying a premium price and waiting for delivery this is extremely dissapointing.

Re: X1 Yoga Touch Screen No Longer Working

I want to confirm that Akuma's (Message 137 in this subject) approach works.  My X1 Yoga touchscreen became unresponsive after a Lenovo update and the HD-compliant touchscreen disappeared from device manager.  First, I rolled back my display driver to 20.19.15.4444 dated 4/22/16.  Then Shutdown, followed by power-on boot. Second, I followed Akuman's advice to manually download (but NOT run) the lenovo "Touch Firmware Update Tool" V4.19 dated 6/19/2016.  I then manually extracted it into a folder as Akuma describes.  Running the .vbs file did not have effect, however, running the .exe files individually (in particular the "5094 v0005 rev02.exe" and the "5095 v0005 rev02.exe" files) caused the firmware to be updated, the device manager immediately recognized the existence of a touchscreen, and the touchscreen itself became responsive.  After a full shutdown, followed by power-on boot, the touchscreen service appears to be functioning normally.

Sure enough that did fix my issue also!

Be nice if Lenovo could fix this.  I saw a thread here that described this issue that goes back to 2012!    You would think they would figure this out.

Extracting the fwupdate package, and running the exe contained within, fixed my issue also.

Hi Amy,

My Yoga touchscreen is not working; and I am unable to apply the firmware update. Would you have any additional suggestions?

Thanks,

Dennis
