Re: X1 Yoga Touch Screen No Longer Working

Hi,

What driver correction application did you use?

I've installed the update above, also run lenovo companion to check for update, reboots etc, nothing helps.

Touchscreen sropped working couple days ago and nothing helps to revive it...

Thanks,

I too had the same problem with my X1 Yoga OLED. I have installed the fix and reset the BIOS which always results in the touch working again. But like others problem reoccured. The solution I found is to run 'Services' and set the recovery options for the WACOM devices to retry. Its default is to do nothing on failure. So for this has cured the problem, but watch this space.

Search for 'Services', run it. Scroll to Wacom and select(double click). Select recovery. You will see its defaults for first, second & subsequest failures will be set to do nothing. Change each to 'restart the service'. Should sort the problem.

Having the same problem with both touchscreen and pen not working and neither applying the fix nor restarting the wacom services fixed my problem. Can not see HID TouchScreen on Device Manager and i think this is the real problem.

Can someone explain how to add it to Device Manager under HID part.

Thanks

If you have uninstalled the device and its no longer there best to go to the Lenovo Support pages for your laptop and download the relevant installation for the Wacom touch screen. Re-instal and it will be back.

My 'finger' touch is sometimes working and then at other times not. I can always get it to work again after reinastalling/BIOS reset or reload the drivers buat at some point or after a reboot it will not be working. Strange this is that sometimes after it has not been working a reboot sees it working. I assume the restart options set in services is effective some of the time.

My problem fixed after i installed the file according to my system from this link. I installed SCCM file and i think it installed the HID Touchscreen and solved the problem.

I had this issue as well. I was able to resolve it by:

1. Going into Device Manager

2. Find the "Wacom Device".  It'll either be located in with the "Humam Interface Devices" or if Windows knows it's not functioning properly it might be listed under "Unknown Devices" or "Other Devices" (if it is listed under Unknown devices category the device will be listed as unknown device and not Wacom Device)

3. Right click on it and choose "Update Driver"

4. Click on "Browse my computer for driver software"

5. Click on "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer"

6. If the box for "Show compatible hardware" is not checked, check it and you should have a small selection of Wacom Device drivers (sometimes USB drivers will sneak into the list).

7. Choose the "Wacom Device Version: 7.3.2.12 [12/14/2015]"

8. Click next and finish the installation.

Hopefully this will help some of you!

Re: X1 Yoga Touch Screen No Longer Working

I am having the exact same problem as VJT (Message 169). Just wanted to ask if there is something that I am doing incorrectly in installing the Touch Firmware Update. I have followed the previous instructions detailed by others (extracting the files and then running the .exe files separately) but I'm not sure why it isn't working.

Below is an image of the window that pops up for me when trying to run the .exe files as administrator.

I am not able to enter any inputs into both the Product ID and Version fields. Nothing ends up happening.

Any reply would be great, thanks.

EDIT: Touch screen and pen functionality is now fixed. For those wondering how, I just had to update BIOS and install the latest WinTab driver in the Lenovo Companion application. Good luck to you all

Thank you very much MainstayIT! This resolved my issue. I didn't download the exact driver that you listed as it wasn't available, but by downloading an older driver from 2015, the touchscreen was back to working perfectly. I initially tried downloading the most recent driver available, however I instead encountered an installation error.

Anyways, thank you very much, this has saved a lot of frustration.

Kind Regards,

IngramZ

Thought your posted driver would fix the problem for the future. It wasnt :(
