Re: X1 Yoga Touch Screen No Longer Working

This issue has reared it's ugly head yet again, with the latest wacom update7.5.2.28.

If you roll back that update and stick with .23 everything should work again.

Thanks

Re: X1 Yoga Touch Screen No Longer Working

I had issue with my X1 OLED Yoga screen. Occasionally lost touch functions, needed device driver reinstall to get it working. This went on for quite a while, very annoying, then one day no touch and nothing would get it working again. Then I started to get a green screen, looked like fireworks. So called Lenovo on warrenty. Within a couple of days I received new screen in post and an engineer called same day. New screen fitted very quickly. I think he was only here 20mins.

Touch wood, my X1 screen has been fine ever since.

Re: X1 Yoga Touch Screen No Longer Working

Looking for an answer for my problem, which is seems to me the same or maybe a bit different from others posted.

My Carbon X1 1st gen touchscreen stopped working.

I have read posts that this can be connected to a particular Windows Update, but not being able to find the update that been mentioned (?).

I have onsite warranty with Lenovo and had

  1. Touchscreen replaced to a brand new one - NO RESULT touchscreen still not working;
  2. Touchscreen connecting cables replaced to a brand new ones - NO RESULT touchscreen still not working;
  3. Motherboard replaced to a brand new one - NO RESULT touchscreen still not working;

Lenovo tech is now saying that I have ot have my laptop completely reimaged, which pain in the ****.

Please help if you have a solution without above-mentioned reimaging.

FYI: I've tried to install the Update for touchscreen on Lenovo site without any luck.

Thanks in advance.

I have touchscreen problems from the very start on may X1 Yoga OLED. It persisted. I would reinstalled drivers apply updates and it would work for a while then stop again. One day screen went green and I had a new screen installed under warrentry. Since the, over 18 months never had any more problems with the touch screen.

Re:X1 Yoga Touch Screen No Longer Working

I ran into the same issue with my 20fr.
I foolishly downloaded Lenovo Vantage and saw a many updates pending. It all went downhill when I installed the Touch update (Which I thought it was referring to the touchpad, not the touch panel) and since then, seems like the wacom device has been bricked and it can no longer be seen in Windows.

If I try to update the firmware, it can't see the device. It's 2020 and this issue was reported in 2018, they could've updated the package in Vantage to the newer wacom feeldriver, but no, they left the wonky one, and now killed the only feature that makes this device's extra weight worth anything.

My device is a few months out of warranty, and most likely cannot extend it. The replacement display is $200, and I can find this laptop used for 350 on ebay, so it's really not worth replacing on my own.

Lenovo, please help us out, at least acknowledge what's going on.

Re:X1 Yoga Touch Screen No Longer Working

I experienced this mysterious  "touch screen (and pen) no longer working" issue on my brand new ThinkPad X1 Yoga Gen 4. It occured suddenly, after 4 weeks of successful operation. I have no idea what has been causing it.

For others experiencing the same issue: An install of the Touch Screen Firmware Update Tool for Windows 10 64-bit - ThinkPad X1 Yoga 4th Gen from https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/de/de/products/laptops-and-netbooks/thinkpad-x-series-laptops/thinkpad-x1-yoga-4th-gen-type-20qf-20qg/20qf/20qfcto1ww/pf1w1phj/downloads/DS540428  followed by a touch screen firmware update through this tool, solved the touch screen and pen issue on my ThinkPad X1 Yoga Gen 4!

I had tried other suggestions before, like updating drivers in Windows 10 Device Manager, but none of those solved the issue, while the touch screen firmware update did the job!
