X1 carbon - boot from USB

2019-09-17, 12:24 PM

I just got my x1 carbon and i love it. I can't however, boot from an external USB. I've read something that I need to do something about the UEFI in bios. First it said i needed to disable secure boot, which i did. But now it says "unselectable for kernel dma protection". What is that, and how do I solve my problem?

Hello and welcome,

That's discussed here:

But what are you trying to boot?  How was it prepared?  Why do you need to disable secure boot? "...I've read something that I need to do something..." is a bit vague.
