X1 yoga Gen2 usb-c not working

Hi,
I have a X1 yoga Gen2 wich has 2 USB-C ports. When I try to connect an external monitor using the first one with a type-c to vga convertor, monitor works fine. When trying with the second port it's not working. Tryed multiple different monitors with the same result.

Problem with that is that I can't use an external monitor and charge my laptop at the same time.

Installed all the latest Bios/Firmware updates through Lenovo Vantage.

Any help will be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Re: X1 yoga Gen2 usb-c not working

You should connect the monitor to the HDMI cable and turn it on.  Then plug the cable into the adapter and then plug in the adapter.  This is not a real solution, but you can charge the machine off either USB-C port.  If the 2nd port won't accept charge and won't connect to a monitor, the port itself may be bad.  Are you still under warranty?

Re: X1 yoga Gen2 usb-c not working

Yes, I guess I can use the HDMI port but the problem is that the usb-c port is not working.

Yes power is not working as well on that port.

Laptop is brand new so I'm guessing it's still under warranty.

Thanks
