Re: X100e BIOS Problems with WWAN Device Gobi 2000

2010-03-29, 4:21 AM

I just preordered my WWAN Gobi 2000 card from lenovo part sale. My Bios version is 1.04a. So long i did not update my bios driver then the card should work right?

I feel that Thinkpad is a professional business class labtop so i would expect the support service to be better then this.

Hi gaetano,

It seem like your labtop is more then jus a bios problem. Reading from your first post to now, it seem like there might be some other issue with your system that cause mutilple program to malfunction even though u just brought it without doing much editing to the system. I would suggest that you call the support team and make them run a full check on your system hardware, software and driver. Hope my reply help.

Regard :)

Re: X100e BIOS Problems with WWAN Device Gobi 2000

Hi all,

I have the same problem, after BIOS update 1.20A (via ThinkVantage),

1) Gobi wwan -> not working ! (device listed : Qualcomm Gobi 2000 HS-USB QDLoader 9204 in COM 3)

2) Boot  by USB -> not working ! (Impossible to restaure Win 7 or install XP pro by CD or USB Key)

3) Downgrade to BIOS 1.10A -> not working (The process does not recognize this system. The utility process has not completed)

Now my X100e is unusable with 3G.

I am very disappointed.

I hope that Lenovo will quickly find a solution !

All,

I would suggest that everyone try to upgrade to version 1.20 here and reload BIOS defaults after applying the update and see if the card now functions properly.

If not, we can escalate the case, but will need some additional details from some members here, preferably someone in the US in case we need to look at the system.

If after trying version 1.20, you still have this issue, please send me a private message with your contact information - name, address, phone, and the MT & Serial number from the bottom of your system.

Please confirm the BIOS level, and driver levels for the card installed, and the OS you are running, and re-confirm the failure mode - not seen in device manager, card won't initialize, etc.

Thanks

Mark
