X121e - 3g module upgreadable

2012-09-13, 9:12 AM

Good morning,

I've just bought a wonderful lenovo x121e with a sim card bay. The sim card enters in the slot but nothing happens. I think that the matter is that the 4g module was flagged as "upgredable" in the website where i bought my laptop.

So I ask you how can I let the 35 work.

Thanks a lot.

Bacca.

Without the WWAN the SIM card does nothing and you cannot get any data from the card.

welcome to the community!

if you could post your 7-character m/t # from the sticker on the bottom of your laptop, it would help us. please don't post your serial #.

generally speaking, though, when a ThinkPad is described as WWAN- or Wireless Broadband- upgradeable, it means that the machine has the SIM card slot installed.as you've found, along with the appropriate antennae. what remains is to purchase the 3g/4g WWAN card and install it into the available mPCIe slot inside the laptop.

does this help?

Re: X121e - 3g module upgreadable

Hi, I understood the information, but I still have a question. I see that I don't have the 3g module, but if I put my mobile SIM crad inside can I for exemple transfer the information that is inside to my hard disk? Or my SIM card will not be recognized or no software or drivers to permit it?

Thanks in advance
