Hi, Ive already read several posts on bluetooth on the X121e specifically Im using a 3501
All I want to do is connect to a bluetooth mouse
bluetooth is on in the bios
it has the preinstalled lenovo OS windows 7
and in there I can find no evidence of bluetooth existing on the laptop
there is no mention of bluetooth in
I have enabled (as reccomended here) the service in services and set to settings as reccomended
I have downloaded the bluetooth driver (which tells me no device detected)
Enhanced data rate software, tells me the latest version is installed
access connections help tells me to click on "connect to devices tab"...which doesnt exist in basic or advanced !
[fn]+[f5] does not have any bluetooth option only WIFI
I have tried lenovo update it has created no devices
device manager does not list any bluetooth device
like another thread, clicking on any bluetooth software in the programfiles\thinkpad\bluetooth software folder does nothing (so why ship it/)
Does this model actually have BLUETOOTH?
and if not why is it in the BIOS
also why is everything hidden refering to bluetooth

Usually, it says on the order confirmation you receive from Lenovo whether or not the model you have purchased has a Bluetooth module installed, if I recall correctly. If you did not buy direct from Lenovo, it may be possible to find this out by looking up the machine type. What are the three letters after the 3501 in your machine type? Assuming they are not CTO, which means "configure to order" (i.e., a custom machine, which may or may not have been ordered with the Bluetooth radio module installed), it may be listed somewhere on Lenovo's web site as to whether that configuration ships with the Bluetooth radio installed in it.

ok the laptop is used in the business I support..
its a standard sales model (sorry dont have it on hand at the moment but the advert where we bought the thing from says it has bluetooth.
so I withdraw the question as to whether it has it or not but am still left with the WHY THE HECK is it not seemingly existing within the O/S W7 Pro 64 bit if I did not mention that before.

The machine type should be on a sticker of the the bottom of the unit.

it did say in my opening post
"[fn]+[f5] does not have any bluetooth option only WIFI"
as I said thanks for taking the time to look.
any other ideas?

On my screen, the place you say "double click here" is described as "Advanced". For me, I couldn't see anything to do with Bluetooth until I clicked Advanced. I'd wondered if Bluetooth had been left out until I found that.

And if you didn't install the real BT Driver ( only that facade you get with normal PNP ) then there will be no working BT.
