X13 Yoga Gen 1: Garaged pen drains laptop battery

2021-09-15, 2:04 AM

Hi all,

My machine drops its battery level by >10%/day while poweroff. Each time I shut it down at 79%, it poweron a day later at 66%. If I take the pen (Thinkpad Pen Pro) out, battery level stays the same. My battery cycle count is 11 and I expect it should be much less.

Has anyone experienced the same issue? Is this a BIOS issue or the pen's?

Thanks

Hello jaspert,

Welcome to Lenovo Community

I suggest that you reload the BIOS default settings, be sure to save and exit.
Next step is to update the necessary software such as BIOS, drivers (specially Power Management and Chipset drivers) and firmware thru the support site.
I would also suggest that you run diagnostics.
Update us how it goes.

Regards,

I did what you instructed me, diagnostics passed all tests. BIOS, driver, firmware are latest according to Vantage. Still, draining 5% battery per day on shutdown.

Is fast start up turned on?  If yes turn off.

Thanks. I tried that but didn't work. My X1E gen 1 does not drain like this although Fast Startup turned on.
