X1C Gen 6: Trackpoint thumb buttons need heavy press

My brand new X1 Carbon won't recognize Trackpoint thumb button input unless I press down hard (left, right and middle). All three buttons have a tactile bump and audible click when pressed but the machine won't register a click until I use an unnatural amount of force to force the button to bottom out.  With normal use, I'm seeing a 50% miss rate for clicks for lack of "smashing down" the buttons.

Here's a demonstration of the problem:

Has anyone seen anything similar to this?

Re: X1C Gen 6: Trackpoint thumb buttons need heavy press

I'm seeing this as well on my X1C6 purchased from Costco earlier this month.  Not as high of a miss rate as you, but definitely high enough for me to consider exchanging it.

Re: X1C Gen 6: Trackpoint thumb buttons need heavy press

Your sounds a bit more extreme than mine. On my X1 Yoga 3rd gen I've started noticing missing clicks, even though the button gave the nice soft click like it has been doing. It just doesn't register, so I end up tying again but pressing harder. It's a bit annoying, hopefully it doesn't get worse.
