Re: Internet not connecting automatically - X1 6th Gen

Update to latest windows version 1903 and install old intel driver version 20.70.9.1 for Dual Band WirelessAC 8265. IAlso  Uninstall the Intel Managment Engine Interface software and disable Auto Install in Vantage.   What a PIA.

Re: X1C6 ; Wi-Fi gateway unavailable after resume from Modern Sleep ; package 21.20.0.0u build NZ4W8

I had this same issue. Going back to a previous driver fixed it. It was super easy to do.

I feel like people are making the steps to revert back to an old driver more complicated then it needs to be here. All I did was right click on the start and go to device manager. Under network adaptor, right click on your wireless driver and go to properties. Under the driver tab there's a 'roll back driver' button. Click that and you're done. Mine reverted back to 20.70.9.1.

I love the simple instruction! But my rollback button was greyed out. Any other way to do this?

Hey Vmax! So it actually didn't work, any other options?

I see the guy heybec below mentioned just to rollback, but I don't have the option as it's greyed out. Any other recommendation?

I had to download the suggested drivers, manually uninstall the wireless device, then reboot and install the older driver.

Mind sharing where you got the suggested drivers? And what the new driver that you're using is?

Hi all!

Could you try to turn off the power saving of the network adapter?

Go to device manager>locate the wifi adapter> Right click and choose properties> Power management > Uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" Press ok.

Restart the computer. See if that works.

Regards,

Matt_lenovo

There is no tab for power management in device manager on my AC 8265.

The Fibocom L850-GL has one, but not the Intel Wireless (20.70.10.2).

Why do I have more problems with my ThinkPads in mid-2019 than I did 5 years ago?

Both on software and hardware. That is not promising evolution.
