X1E - The GPU has been disconnected and this application may become unresponsive.......

2019-08-22, 11:34 AM

Has anybody else having this issue?

Laptop purchased in May this year, and no end of problems with various 3D programs. Always the same issue:

The description for Event ID 1 from source NVIDIA OpenGL Driver cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.

If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.

The following information was included with the event:

The GPU has been disconnected and this application may become unresponsive.

Error code: 10
(pid=4012 tid=17016 insertprogramhere.exe 64bit)

Visit http://www.nvidia.com/page/support.html for more information.

I recently updated the NVIDIA drivers from the Lenovo website, and just tonight, from the NVIDIA website (now running version 431.70). Still the same problem. Card is GeForce GTX 1050 Ti. Laptop has 32 gig of ram in it.

Has anybody successfully overcome this?

Edit - also have no end of issues with the Thunderbolt 3 dock with laggy screens. Related??
