X200 Integrated Camera and Bios

2012-01-19, 4:43 AM

I have recently upgraded from Windows Vista to Windows 7 64bit on my X200. Did a System Update and upgraded to the new bios. However, after doing so, the integrated webcam does not work anymore. I checked bios and there wasn't an I/O entry for the camera.

Tried reinstalling the drivers multiple times but it still does not work. I have searched the forums and have noted that multiple users have posted regarding this and nobody from Lenovo has yet to give an answer regarding this issue.

Is there anybody out there who have faced such a problem and successfully solved it?

this is most likely an issue with the webcam, my X200 had recently done the same and had to be sent into warranty for repair.

Re: X200 Integrated Camera and BIOS

I know the X200 is a little 'elderly' but my company has 5 of these that have never been out of their boxes!!

I was given one 2 months ago fully new and unused.

I updated all the software to Win7 including the BIOS!

I am highly experienced with Lenovo PCs but the none of the THREE I have tried has a working camera!!

Needless to say their warranties have all expired unless (in the interest of customer satisfaction?) Lenovo would look at them and try to see what the problem is??

Like another user I am SURE that it is a fault in the BIOS!!

I gather another person in my company got it to work at first but applied the BIOS updates and now... no camera!!

What are you going to do to help us all Lenovo??

I realise I can buy/use a USB camera but that is not the point!!

I guess we paid a lot of money for these but Lenovo does not seem interested in finding us a fix?!
