I just bought a new Lenovo Thinkpad X201 Tablet 0831-CTO.
Unfortunately I made a mistake and ordered it with Windows 7 32 bit instead of Windows 7 64 bit, which among other problems means that I can only use 2.92 GB of RAM out of the 6 GB inside the machine!
How do I switch to Windows 7 64 bit?
Do I need a software preload recovery dvd with Windows 7 64 (including the Office 2010 Starter in English, # 03W6342) from Lenovo or is it possible for me to use the recovery tools on my laptop and then install the 64 bit version instead of the 32 bit version of Windows 7?

Hi and welcome to the forum!
Look at lead_org's post here:- http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/SL-Series-ThinkPad-Laptops/Will-using-64bit-Win7-allow-one-to-utilize-gt...
Alternatively you can buy 64 bit recovery DVD from lenovo:- http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?sitestyle=lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-74752
Hope this helps.
Maliha (I don't work for lenovo)

#1 Use ABR to backup Win 32's serial and cert
#2 Use a standard X64 install media DVD or USB-KEY to install Win7 x64 (w/o any serial)
#3 Use ABR to restore the activation data
#4 Manually install the Lenovo thinkvantage updater
#5 Connect to internet and launch windows update and lenovo update
