X220 Laptop WLAN Drivers - which worx ?

Hello,

after fresh install of Win7 64 i used the Thinkpad Updater for many device drivers. But only WLAN was not istalled. Seems it has no WLAN Adapter recognized. Is there any extra driver to install?

On my old windows it worked perfectly.

Re: X220 Laptop WLAN Drivers - which worx ?

Welcome to the Community

Is WLAN port enabled in the BIOS Setup?
Is a wireless radio switch on (on the left side of the case)?
Is there unknown devices in Device Manager (usually in Other Devices category)?
Could you show Network Adapters category items?
Sorry, I have to ask - are you sure the WLAN adapter exists on the laptop?

Re: X220 Laptop WLAN Drivers - which worx ?

You can get all the available drivers for the X220 here:

https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/thinkpad-x-series-laptops/thinkpad-...

Note that the X220 had more than one WLAN card option. You need to get the appropriate driver for the WLAN card you have installed. AFAIK, if you enter your machine Type on the same webpage above, it will narrow the list down to what is specific for your machine.

EDIT: You should install the Hotkey Features driver to be able to turn on/off wireless with Fn+F5. Also, do make sure your hardware wireless switch is  turned on, on the left side of the X220 as mentioned by x220forme.

Re: X220 Laptop WLAN Drivers - which worx ?

the left side switch is surely switched on.

Now some UBCD hardware tool tells me

Adapter Vendor: Intel Corporation

Adapter name: WiFi Link 6000 Series

But i can't find any Lenovo Driver on the above page for this.

Why is this so hard to get it run.. ?
