X220 - Looping on and off

[ Edited ]

Hey,

I have 8 Lenovo x220 4286-CTO R9xxxx series machines that were purchased between November of 2011 and January of 2012.  I have run into 2 machines that have the Looping on and off.  both have been corrected at the time of incident by pulling power and the Extended battery.  When I replace the battery and assure that the Lock switch is set, the machine will then boot without issue.  This will hold for an undeterminate span of time.  Each time this issue returns, the battery Lock switch is either between Lock and Unlocked or Unlocked.  Is this indicative of the issue metioned in this chain, and if so, do I need to order replacement Mother Boards before they go?  I have complete coverage with on-site for 4 years.

I need to know if I should worry.  My end users are married to their devices and clock over 14 hours a day on them, any downtime is TRAGIC.

thank you
