Re: X220 with USB3.0, no mSata SSD possible ?

Any updates JameZ?  This whole situation is VERY frustrating.

JameZ:  I bought the x220 primarily because it has an mSATA port and I can run an SSD and HDD.  So the fact that the mSATA port isn't working has been a dissapointment:  I don't want to install all my apps and get everything set up, when I know that I'll just have to do it again.  Me and my company don't have that kind of time to invest in debugging.  Letting me know that you are making this a priority and have people working on this would really boost my confidence.

This is true for me as well, not having the MSATA SSD is really blocking me from setting up the laptop the way I want it.  Please handle this quickly!

@All,

Was the mSata card purchased separately or was it from Lenovo? Also appreciate if those affected could post their mSata card model and where was it purchased from.

Re: X220 with USB3.0, no mSata SSD possible ?

JameZ: For some reason, Lenovo did not offer the possibility to have your laptop equipped with an additional msata ssd.  I didn't check if Lenovo sold it somewhere else.  I guess most people here, like me as posted above, have ordered theirs from mydigitaldiscount, as not so many suppliers seem to offer msata disks so far.

BIOS 1.16
Intel 310 80GB, SSDMAEMC080G2, firmware 2CV102M3

Re: X220 with USB3.0, no mSata SSD possible ?

I would love to have the opportunity to purchase my mSATA SSD for my brand new X220 directly from Lenovo.

That way I will be assured that my on-site warranty covers any compatibility trouble.

Kindly please provide information as to how to conduct this transaction.

Thank You!

Re: X220 with USB3.0, no mSata SSD possible ?

Throwing my hat into the ring - I just received the X220 today and installed a MyDigitalSSD 64GB mSata drive in addition to the factory installed 320GB 7200RPM HDD. The SSD does not show up in BIOS and does not work.

Specs

BIOS 1.16

4286CTO
CPU i7-2620M

MyDigitalSSD 64GB 50mm mSata SSD

Would be happy to provide more info if required.

Thanks,

Dave
