I have been looking at the Renice 120gb & they say it is compatible with the Asus EP121 & x220 & they have the same SKU no. so you would think the Sandisk would be the same standard

Hi @mcrussell,

Yes Sandisk replied the same to me. I have checked the datasheet, it is obviously compatible with mSATA standard. But maybe because of OEM specification, it may "choose" the system it compatible to.

x220, model 4286 CTO, i7, 4gb 1 sodimm (soon to be Kingston 1866), 320gb HD + 80gb Intel SSD

just received my Intel 80gb today, after 2 weeks of waiting. first time tearing my x220, m apart so I searched online and came across this thread. boy was it bumming me out.  Debated whether to wait for update or give it a go. booted into the BIOS, and there it was. reorded it to boot from exisitng disk. windows

boot fine, recognized the new intel ssd, and then I formatted with no problems. Looked at my BIOS and I'm on version 1.12. Came just in time for my networking class tomorrow. If we have our own laptop we are willing to use, we can install the server software on it. Get to leave when it's done. I bet I'm out of there in now time

going to give Win7 from DVD & USB a try now. will post results later. glad I didn't prematurely update my BIOS before installing (I typically do on fresh OS installs). Love the speed, but wanted the battery life benefit mostly.

AS SSD benchmark results:

                            Read          Write

Seq                      198             79    MB/s

4K                          15             30    MB/s

4K-64                    135            55    MB/s

Acc. Time             .091          .144    ms

Score                   171              94

                                    352

BIOS version has nothing to do with the problem.

It's interesting that the 4286 CTO model is listed as having problems with mSata BIOS recognition, so it shouldn't have worked at all

Model number and BIOS don't matter, the problem is due entirely to your computer configuration options when you ordered it. I have two x220 of the same model and one works and the other doesn't.

I have

X220  4286-CTO i7-2620M  4GB RAMBIOS:1.16 (5.18.11)

Trying to install on Intel 510 Series- 120GB SSD.  version#: G19793-102

The lenovo Recovery process detects the HDD but ultimately says OS does not support the HDD?

What would it take for me to use my $300 investment work for me?

TPM ENABLED? - Will try

I'd start a new thread since that it is a different issue. You'll probably get more help that way.
