Re: X220 with USB3.0, no mSata SSD possible ?

2011-07-14, 0:57 AM

It seems a beta version of the upcoming 1.18 bios has been made available to some people here.  Could these chosen ones give some feedback whether the new version solves the msata problem?  Thanks!

I am happy to report the new 1.18 (beta) BIOS worked perfectly with Intel 310, which was not working before. Hope it get released soon so everyone with the said compatible problem gets it.

----

To all who wanted the 1.18 beta BIOS:

I am sorry that I am not privileged to give the BIOS to anyone.

It was sent to me as a try out for another problem I met. I believe it is not yet gone through every production standard tests and there maybe a few glitches that will burn your laptop or something else. I took the risk willingly because I can blame the engineerer for the consequences, but I cannot take the same responsibility.

Please be patient because 1.18 will be released soon. I myself will update my BIOS to the released version just like you.

Great! I hope the fix also applies to other mSata such as Renice 120GB K3VLAR mSATA.

Me too seeing as the  Renice 120GB K3VLAR mSATA is the drive I bought two months ago when I ordered the X220T (no returns for me).

Really can't wait for this to be resolved. Have been holding back on buying a mSATA SSD as I have to buy it from USA as it is rare/non-existent in Singapore!

Was your x220 not working with the intel 310 before the 1.18 beta BIOS?

The price on the site you gave is about $150 dollars too much for the 80GB, should be around $200 not $350.

The BIOS will be released by the end of this month... Hopefully, and then you can download it.

Please read through this message thread....... there is nothing to download as yet, but there is information elsewhere in this  thread on when it is expected to be available.
