Re: Trouble installing Intel 510 ssd on X220 i7 usb3.0 laptop.

Actually,
I had an intel 310 on hand, and it does work in the x220t.

So, I guess the question should be, why doesn' t the sandisk work, and is there any chance a future update will let it work?  I've tried it in a few other machines and it works in everything else!

Thanks

Different question, moved to own thread.
USB-C: Just cos it fits don't mean it works.
I don't work for Lenovo. I'm a crazy volunteer!

Just a quick note on the 2.5" drive.  I have a WDC 1TB 9mm drive installed in my X220T (Model 4294CTO i7-2640M).  It doesn't go in easily so you have to back off some of the screws around the bay then tighten them up.  I've been running it for 3 months now without any issues.  The 5400rpm sucks but I am installing a Crucial 260GB mSATA so the HDD will just be for storage.

Has anyone run Crucial SSD's in the X220 or X220T?

Cheers

The Crucial mSATA works fine, but it is a 256.

Hello,

No problems noted using a 7mm high Crucial m4 512GB SSD in my i7/USB 3.0 X220 as a data drive.

Re: X220 with USB3.0, no mSata SSD possible ?

2012-12-30, 8:50 AM

Hi,

I had the same problem on a X230 with 128GB Crucial m4 mSATA, and it went away after I play around the msata with my desktop.(desktop failed to detect the ssd at the time)

now I am backing up my other thinkpad T420 with the same SSD, the back up went insanely slow so I powered it off. and boom.....same error message !

I tried to take out the ssd and power on, enter bios to save setting and power cycle, no battery, no AC etc. same.

do you see this problem in X230 and T420 as well?
