Hi All,
Our company has recently purchased over 100 Lenovo x240 and multiple users are reporting an issue with them randomly receiving a black screen with a white cursor on it. To resolve this they have to forcefully turn off their laptops and turn them back on again. I spoke to Lenovo Support and they gave me a BIOS Update, Power Management Driver ,Wireless driver and Graphics Driver to try and resolve the issue.
Has anyone else come across this and if so how did they resolve it? I've heard about some people uninstalling the fingerprint reader driver or updating it should resolve the issue but in my case it hasnt. Our units didnt come with a fingerprint reader physically installed so I just removed the driver altogether.
I have also compared our windows 7 image to the Lenovo Preload and there are no differences between the drivers except the ones on our image are newer.
Thanks!

Anything suspicious in Event Log after the crash ?
I would try to disable power management on affected machines.
