I am using an X240 with the following specs:
Processor: i5-4300 CPU @ 1.90 GHz 2.50 GHz
RAM: 8.0 GB
System: 64 bit, Windows 7
No external monitors
When my computer lid is closed and it automatically sleeps it is not possible to wake it again when I open the lid. I will move the mouse (both the external and the built in), touch the keys, and even push the power button and it will not wake up. The power button light remains solid.
The only way I have figured out how to wake it up is if I plug in a VGA cable that is connected to an external monitor or projector.
Does anyone know how to fix this?

First step is to look in the event log to se if a device is throwing a message about a problem entering the sleep state.

When it is sleeping, the power button light should pulse slowly. Does it do that?
