X250 -EM7345-MBIM_issues

2015-12-30, 6:52 AM

Hi all,

I got my 5th thinkpad devices X250 since Feb,2015, and I bought a em7345 module from Chinese C2C paltfrom taobao.com

When I use win7 os,it is ok and updatable

but when I change my os to win10 , problem occurs.

I downloaded the newest drivers from support.lenovo.com and installed

File directory C:\ProgramData\Intel\LENOVO MBIM Toolkit\FirmwareDatabase\PreInstalled existed.

The newest version is FIH7160_V1.2_WW_01.1529.06_TS_NAND.fls

But when I launch intel MBIM firmware updated,it shows :

"Device not found or removed"

device information and sim information was all blank

When I add flz files downloaded from rokuta.com, it's also not updatable

But I can use the sim internet service

What a [skipped] thing!

Here are some feedbacks after I run "cmd".

    Roaming            : Not roaming

    Signal             : 48%

    RSSI / RSCP        : 15 (-83 dBm)

All I wanna know is how to  update its firmware to the latest.

The firmware updates on reboot or if you have PIN protected SIM card after first connection.

I took my simcard out and it's still not of any use.

The mbim firmware updater shows device not found or removed.

How could I flash the firmware?Use “flash tool”?

Thanks!

You don't need to flash it by a tool. It is supposed to be flashed automatically after OS restart.

... if operator's MCC/MNC are listed in the settings file, you know about that.

There is fallback to the generic firmware. My operator is not explicitely listed there and the automatic firmware update works well. The only issue was PIN protected SIM card, the firmware gets updated after first connection.

I know there are EM7345 issues especially when Windows 10 issues are added :smileyfrustrated:

I took my simcard out andtried the update, and it failed.

The point is I can‘t see the EM7345 device through MBIM ,but I can see it through device manager.

I had a similar issue myself with my SIM until I added the MCC and MNC for my carrier into the following file;

C:\Program Files (x86)\Sierra Wireless Inc\LENOVO MBIM Toolkit\Data\MCC-MNC_LookupTable.xml

I hope that helps.

But the problem exists.

Where did u add the mcc and mnc info?

The file MCC-MNC_LookupTable.xml doesn't relate firmware flashing settings. You have to find FLSInformation.xml file and add new entry if the one doesn't exist. Use any entry existed as a template.
