X250 i7-5600u Heating Up

My x250's CPU temperature approaches 90+ degrees when I try to watch youtube videos on Chrome/Firefox. I can hear the whiny fan speed up. I usually have the power setting at Maximum Performance in Power Manager.

Is this the nature of core i ulv cpus?

That shouldn't be normal. Propably, there is something wrong with the fan assembly or the thermal grease.

Re: X250 i7-5600u Heating Up

i have the same problem and its definately not a hardware fault.

flash for some reason uses 100% cpu on the x250, i'm guessing it's down to really bad driver support, as it's still a very new cpu?

i stream content from twitch.tv for example through vlc player and only get 20% cpu usage then.

oh, also, try internet explorer for example! of all browsers - it also only uses around 20% cpu and the machine runs cool.

Re: X250 i7-5600u Heating Up

so only us two have this problem?

can someone else running the i7-5600u test this please?

the problem also persists in ubuntu and windows 7 as well, btw.

is it a general chrome issue (drivers)? as i mentioned, ie11 works flawlessly.

Re: X250 i7-5600u Heating Up

Hi,

I'm experiencing the same problem with the same CPU under Linux Mint 17.3 and with Firefox 46.0.

Any solution so far?
