I bought a 2nd hand x250 online and when i reaached home i noticed battery 1 was no available for use. I contacted the seller and he said that it did not come with one. So it just has an extended external battery that came with it. I am confused because i have another model when has one internal and i bought an external (extended) battery so i have two. I had no idea that some models do NOT have an internal battery. Can i buy one and fit an internal battery myself or are some models not compatible with an internal battery?

Warm Greetings & welcome to Lenovo Community, happy to have you here.
Internal battery is optional in ThinkPad x250, it can upgraded later on, below are the compatible batteries for your model from parts list.
I hope the above information helped you.

So how can i confirm there is actually no internal battery inside the machine without opening it up?
If you'll post the Machine Type Model number here, I can pull the system details and confirm that for you.

oh shoot it is at home. I can get it for you in a few mins. Just the serial number would do?
Yes, but if you are sharing the Serial Number do it by private message service don't post it here.

That will do mine friend no need of sharing Machine type Model then, Serial number is enough.
