X250 with a fresh Windows 7 install wireless driver

I installed a fresh install of Windows 7 and loaded all the drivers from the Lenovo support website. They all installed like normal except the Intel Wireless driver. It says install complete and I reboot and the exclamation point is still there in the device manager. Why is this the only driver to do this. I have also tried it on a second machine fresh out of the box and get the same results.

Re: X250 with a fresh Windows 7 install wireless driver

Good day and welcome to the community.

Could you confirm/post the Hardware ID (found in Device Manager) of the item with the yellow bang?

Regards.

PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_095B&SUBSYS_52108086&REV_99

PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_095B&SUBSYS_52108086
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_095B&CC_028000
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_095B&CC_0280

It really doesn't make any sense.

Re: X250 with a fresh Windows 7 install wireless driver

I believe that is an Intel Dual Band AC 7265

Is this: http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/Laptops-and-netbooks/ThinkPad-X-Series-laptops/ThinkPad-X25... the driver package you've tried to install? That card, Win7 and the X250 are all noted in the readme.

Regards.

Yes that is the driver I installed. This should have worked. I looked in the bios to see if there was anything blocking it and don't see anything.

Re: X250 with a fresh Windows 7 install wireless driver

Perplexing, no doubt.
I've got the same card in one of my machines.

Hardware ID: PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_095B&SUBSYS_52108086&REV_59

What do you see in the Device status box on the General tab of the device's properties in Device Manager? Anything interesting in the Events box on the Events tab?

Regards.

I don't have those tabs. I see nothing in the event viewer either.

Re: X250 with a fresh Windows 7 install wireless driver

Even more perplexing.

You don't have these at all?

No, you get all those tabs when the driver is installed. I just have the generic Network Controller with the exclamation point.

Re: X250 with a fresh Windows 7 install wireless driver

Right.

I was under the impression from your first post ("It says install complete") that the driver seemed to complete the install successfully, but that you were still getting the yellow bang.

At this point, I'm out of suggestions. That driver package should be correct for your machine.

Apologies.
