X270 Management Engine Interface driver

Model: Lenovo X270 20K5

Downloaded Management Engine Interface driver Version 11.7.0.1017 for Win7 64- bit.

Driver does not support .inf file installation as there is no .inf file.

Driver files include 'Setup.bat' and 'SetupME.exe'.

'Setup.bat' runs 'SetupME.exe' silently and makes registry entries.

'SetupME.exe' also works.

Which are you meant to run and why?

(Both seem to work but which way is recommended?)

Re: X270 Management Engine Interface driver

Dear MM__,

ThinkPad development engineer recommend user to use Setup.bat instead of SetupME.exe.

Because Setup.bat not only modifying some registry entries but also having an additional procedure that removes Intel Management and Security Status(IMSS) from startup and creates a scheduled task for it instead.  This procedure is to enhance and provide slightly better performance at boot-up.
