X390 Yoga Trackpoint not working

2019-06-23, 2:52 AM

Hi,

A month ago, I purchased a Thinkpad X390 Yoga running Windows 10 Education via my school's one to one program. About two weeks ago, my trackpad and trackpoint stopped working once I connected a bluetooth mouse to it, and was still disabled after I turned the mouse off. The problem disappeared either after I left the laptop alone for a while or after I restarted it. It has happened a few times ever since, including right now. At the time I am typing this post, the trackpoint and trackpad are both disabled, even after I restarted my laptop, and the only way I have been able to navigate around my laptop is via the touchscreen and my mouse. I went to Synaptics Trackpoint through settings, but for some reason, all of the settings were disabled. Is there a way I can resolve this problem?

My trackpoint started working again after another restart, and now I can access Synaptics. However, I'm certain that it will happen again.

Hi,

I'm running Windows 10 Professional and I have the same isue with the trackpad.

The trackpad is unresponsive and several times stops working. When this hapens, the trackpoint is the only way to navigate around.

Is there a way to resolve this problem?

When the issue happened, could you please reboot machine and when pops up Lenovo logo to press "F1" to go to BIOS to check whether the "Trackpad" and "TrackPoint" status are ON, if no, press F9 to load default that can make them status ON and F10 to save and exit, please refer to the attachment for BIOS, thanks.
