Re: flicker

I have provided a solution months ago to this and it was rolling back the video driver to 6.14.10.4860. It seems femrev has also (implicitly) rolled back the video driver and that is what really solved the problem, it seems to me.

Re: flicker

If you were intelligent enough to go to the end of this list for information, contratulations!  I read all 16 pages.

Bottom line as I see it:

  1. This is a video driver problem
  2. If you can, roll back to 4450 (others have reported success with later versions)
  3. If you do not have 4450 (or any other driver)  installed you are basically screwed.  No one has posted any link to this driver.  Should anyone have a link to 4450 for Vista32 please post it and earn the gratitude of many.

Re: T60 - Screen flickers and screen shutoff - problem with power management or hardware failure?

My T60 screen is flickering or blinking on start up and it shuts down every now and again. It's only 2 years old. Is this hardware failure? Will Lenovo help?

Thanks for any suggestions.

Re: X60 - Screen flickers and screen shutoff - problem with power management or hardware failure?

Has anyone tried changing the Open GL settings which you reach by CTRL+ALT+F12 then "3D Settings"?

Re: X60 - Screen flickers and screen shutoff - problem with power management or hardware failure?

Any progress anyone? Tired of my screen flickering and shuting off with different colors while on battery.. I am running Vista 32-bit and have no access to older video drivers. Has anyone tried with the Windows 7 Release Candidate?

What's DOS?

Re: X60 - Screen flickers and screen shutoff - problem with power management or hardware failure?

So what's up with Lenovo ignoring this issue?

Why can't you post an older driver with some instructions to manually update?

Same problem here, as reported by all the others... sometimes a white screen, black screen, light blue screen... always have to put the system to sleep and restart to get it back....

The 4450 driver can be downloaded from HERE but it's only for XP and W2K. I had to choose the download from backup server as the main primary download link didn't work. This driver is dated 2006 so precedes Vista if I'm not mistaken.

For Vista, have you tried removing the IBM / Lenovo driver and just using the Vista driver? I don't use Vista so it's just a thought.

The earliest Intel driver for Vista 32 I found is 7.14.10.1461 dated 4/1/2008. This is for the 945GM Express chipset. I don't know what TP you have and which chipset.

Re: T60 - Screen flickers and screen shutoff - problem with power management or hardware failure?

Thank you for the long awaited 4450 download link TPX60sMAn! I had some struggles downloading it at first since I use the Opera browser but finally got it down. I decided to upload it to my Mediafire account and some other filehosts to make it easier to share with everyone.

http://www.mediafire.com/file/rtnikgn2ywi/7bd104ww.exe        - should be a permanent download link

Mirrors:

I am not running XP myself so I will be trying the early Intel driver for Vista 32 and report on that, I might also try the Windows 7 Release Candidate this week and see how that runs with the glitching.

Re: T60 - Screen flickers and screen shutoff - problem with power management or hardware failure?

When trying to install the old Intel Graphics Driver for Windows Vista 32 I get this message:

"The driver being installed is not validated for this computer. Please obtain the appropriate driver from the computer's manufacturer.

Setup will exit."
