X60: written intel centrino duo, but the actual processor is genuine intel (R)

dear all,

I hope some will read this and have the answer. Well, i just realised that my X60 has not centrino duo processor as it is written in the laptop board. Then,  I just happened to check it from dsdiax and found that my processor is genuine intel (R). Is that sticker on laptop's board really tell us about the processor inside the laptop or its just accessories? if someone has the answer, could u please let me know..

thanks

opic

Re: written intel centrino duo, but the actual processor is genuine intel (R)

Welcome to the forum!

Every X60 has either a genuine Intel Core Duo, or a Core 2 Duo processor. Centrino is not a processor name, but a platform that incorporates several components, including processor and wireless card.

Download CPU-Z if you want to find out out more specifics about your ThinkPad.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,

George
