X61: Wireless adapter stopped working at home, works in the office...

2009-04-08, 7:18 AM

This is the weirdest thing. Last night my wireless adapter (Intel Pro Wireless 3945ABG) stopped working at home - I can view all the networks and try to connect but it just won't complete the connections to any of the networks I could use in the past (my own password protected network or the open ones).

Oddly enough, it does work in my office, connecting to our company, password protected wireless network.

I've tried uninstalling the drivers as well as access connections and installing the latest drivers - but to no avail.

Please help!

Hello django,

thanks! Which AC version do you use?

Uninstall W-lan and AC, reboot install W-lan and AC version 5.20.

Tip: If AC sometimes don´t connect, try disabling and enabling your wlan adapter. Then try to connect again.

I've uninstalled AC completely to use Windows' wifi manager and, alternatively, the intel one.  Neither work. Are you suggesting that installing AC 5.20 should work?

Yes, but read BSNF´s installation guide here.

Also check the installation instruction, read me´s, of AC 5.20.

I don't know if it was AC 5.2 or not (because I just realized that the networks in question weren't accessible on my iPhone either) - so I reset my own router again and now everything is good.

Thanks!
