On my x61s, running under Vista, for more than a year I found my system intermittently going into an unrecoverable freeze--but only when the system was running on batteries.
Fix: When I disabled the Lenovo "Active Protection System," the problem disappeared and has not come back. (Merely changing the "shock protection sensitivity" did not work.)
X61s 7668-CTO, Vista SP1, 1.6 GHz Core 2 Duo, 2 Gig memory, 160 Gig HDD, turbo memory, and Intel 4965 AGN
Moderator edit: Merged both of O_Govinda's threads on same subject. Changed X61 in title to X61s.

Does it help if you lower the Active Protection sensitivity (Control Panel > ThinkVantage Active Protection)?
If not, and you are still under warranty I would call support.

No, it doesn't. I tried that first.
Thanks and best wishes.
