XI Audio Driver "stops working" in Windows 10 V1703

2017-05-10, 23:17 PM

The X1 Audio Driver (Audio(8.66.62.00)n1ga506w.exe) failed as soon as I upgraded to V1703

Can you please fix the broken driver.

I realize that almost ALL vendors are NOT supporting the Creator Update, but you might consider trying.

Thank you.

I know that Conexant just released a new driver version 8.66.65.50  on Monday, but I do not know how long it will take for Lenovo to test it and post on their site.    I searched for it and can see it on other sites around the web like Softpedia, but if you want it validated by Lenovo, you may have to wait a few days.

Good Luck,

Thank you. They do not have a compatible. driver at the Softpedia site.

Lenovo are dragging their feet and have never responded to my questions in here.

Last night I contacted Support and it was Microsoft who contacted me but they could not fix the existing Lenovo driver.

Lenovo should support the products they sell.

Fixed. I completely uninstalled the Lenovo driver, restarted and Windows installed its own driver which is working fine in V1703 Creator Update.

Good Luck,

actually Conexant released the v8.66.65.50 drivers on the Microsoft Update Catalog site but it's NOT compatible with Lenovo computers.  while the 8.66.65.50 drivers are listed for Windows 7 & Windows 8.1 systems on the MS site, the drivers could be used under Windows 10.  Sometimes Softpedia gets the driver info wrong.

Again the 8.66.65.50 drivers won't work on ANY Lenovo desktop/laptop/server PCs and only support the Conexant audio device with the following hardware ID:

HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_14F1&DEV_510F&SUBSYS_1043864D

A "SUBSYS" ID beginning with "1043" is vendor ID for ASUS, not Lenovo.  An audio device with a subsys ID beginning with "17AA" is vendor ID for Lenovo.  Use Device Manager in Windows to look for your hardware device ID for your Conexant HD audio device.

Eventually Lenovo will produce compatible Conexant audio drivers for the Windows 10 creators update.  It's just that they take longer to make and Lenovo has to test them before making them available on their support site.
