Yellow Bang - Intel Management Engine Interface

Clean install of Win 7 x64 Ent. SP1

Downloaded and installed Intel Management Engine 11.7 Software for Windows 7 (32-bit and 64-bit) - ThinkPad X270 (Type 20K5, 20K6) Version 11.7.0.1017.

Get yellow bang for Intel Management Engine Interface in Device Manager.

This is the same on the Lenovo X270 and L570.

MS KB2685811 (kmdf-1.11-Win-6.1-x64.msu) resolves the yellow bang but need to reference a KB article which explains if and how this is the supported fix.

Any help appreciated.

I have the resolution.

 

If you install the Management Engine Interface software 'Intel Management Engine 11.7 Software for Windows 7 (32-bit and 64-bit) - ThinkPad X270 (Type 20K5, 20K6)' it will prompt to install MS KB2685811 which resolves the yellow bang in Device Manager.

 

If you install the Intel Management Engine Interface using .inf installation, from the SCCM driver pack, you will not get prompted to install MS KB2685811 but you will still get the yellow bang.

 

The resolution is the same. Install MS KB2685811.
