Yoga X1 2nd gen not recognizing phone as storage device

2021-01-26, 3:35 AM

When I plug my phone in to a USB port on my laptop, it will charge the phone but does not display it in File Explorer.  I think I've covered all my bases here and am stumped.  The phone connects fine to my other two laptops, one is an X280 and one is an older Carbon.  I've downloaded and installed all USB drivers, updates, both Lenovo and Microsoft, have rebooted a dozen times, both laptop and phone.  Have also double-checked phone settings so that USB is recognized as storage device/file transfer mode.  I'm out of ideas here and I need to get my phone backed up to my laptop asap as I get my new phone in a couple of days.

Hello lenovoguyinnh,

Greetings

Make sure that BIOS is up to date.

For usb drivers, I suggest that you completely remove it from the system, then install a fresh copy from the support site

Update us how it goes

Regards,

yes, I uninstalled all USB drivers and rebooted, and now everything works as expected.
