Re: Yoga X1: Black Screen after Windows update - Display driver issue

Hi

I have never done a reset or anything like that. This is a fresh machine installed from scratch. Screen goes black if I let the Windows Update to install latest display driver. Windows 10 and these automatic driver updates can cause lot of headache if the driver that is offered is something that you dont want. It's not so easy to stop Windows from installing it.

Re: Yoga X1: Black Screen after Windows update - Display driver issue

kaktus

I have tried fresh install of Win10, the problem does not happen with the below steps:

1.  install Win10 1607 x64 from ISO

2.  connect to internet

3.  run windows update, repeat until no more updates

So can you please tell me your detailed reproduce steps to see the problem?

Any resolution to this? I have a Carbon X1 with Windows 10 and as soon as my pc updates the driver screen goes black. Disabling in safe mode works but is not a sustainable option. Rolling back driver also make this occur.

Re: Yoga X1: Black Screen after Windows update - Display driver issue

Kjlrsa,

Does the patch work for you?  https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-X-Series-Laptops/Yoga-X1-Black-Screen-after-Windows-update-Dis...

If not, I need you to tell me how to reproduce this here.  Are you using the Lenovo factory preload?  If not, how did you set up Windows 10?
