Re: Yoga x1 3rd gen keyboard backlight flickering

I habe the same problems. After updating the touchpad keeps working in tabletmode and the screen wont turn on orientation change. When the final bios patch will be released, which covers all problems? The massive issues are really annoying Smiley Sad

The S3 problem affects me too. (and also the missing HDR support)

Re: Yoga x1 3rd gen keyboard backlight flickering

I have the exact same issue with my brand new x1 Yoga 3rd generation - Keyboard Flashing.

I've returned it already once, they said it was "fixed".  In fact, they wiped my hard drive without asking me and when I complained, they said to "read the fine print" that they are allowed to wipe it without asking for my consent.

I asked for a refund or a replacement, they declined.  I'm utterly disappointed with Thinkpad after 20 solid years of loyalty.

Re: Yoga x1 3rd gen keyboard backlight flickering

the BIOS/EC Firmware still isn't released. The trial firmware from the thread here should solve the problem though

When I click the link, it says the file can no longer be found. Can it be re-posted?

I just installed this on my X1Y3, and now my system snores.. As in, close the lid, X1Y3 goes to sleep (LED in lid slowly dims on-off), but the fan kept blowing audibly for at least three solid minutes, until I woke the system. Ironically, waking the system slowed and then stopped the fan.

Not sure if this is tricky to reproduce, but here's how I got to that state.

- was docked to USB dock (microsoft continuum dock) and connected to power

- undocked before starting BIOS update (you never know..), kept power plugged in

- installed BIOS

- reconnected to dock at logon screen with X1Y screen open

- found that both displays were on which I usually don't have, so:

- logged out

- closed lid

At that point the laptop went to sleep but the fan kept blowing for several minutes. If seen the fan go for a few seconds after closing the lid, but this time it just kept going. Hope this was a one time glitch!
