Hi kennyabcd2011 :smileyhappy:

Welcome to Lenovo Community.

I'm not a hardware specialist. Therefore, I'll leave the hardware tips to someone else. I can help you with good security practices, though. You did not mention your operating system, so I will be general.  In addition to the discussion forums, the Lenovo Community Search feature and the Knowledge Base are good resources.

There are tips on using good security practices in the Security & Malware Knowledge Base which is located here: https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Security-Malware-Knowledge-Base/tkb-p/Security_Malware%40tkb
If at any time, you have specific security questions, feel free to post at Lenovo Community's Security & Malware Board . If we cannot answer your questions or if you need one-on-one security guidance, the moderators on that board can send you to a reliable dedicated security site that can help.

You still should treat any laptop computer like it is a very expensive and fragile piece of glass.  Lenovo ThinkPads are amongst the most rugged around, but they still can be damaged if dropped, thrown, drowned, etc.

In the lower-left corner of the keyboard is the Fn (function) key.  Pressing this and any of the F1 ... F12 keys at the top performs various actions highlighted on the key, like muting the speakers, increasing or decreasing screen brightness, and so forth.

If your model has a backlit keyboard, pressing Fn+Spacebar toggles the backlight through off, low and high settings.

Other than that, it should behave pretty much like a desktop computer does.
