does x220 support sata 3.0?

[ Edited ]

Spec: x220, i7, 8GB, 320GB 7200.

i would like to replace the 320GB HDD with a SSD. I would like to know if x220 motherboard supports SATA v3.0. That is if I buy a SSD with 500+MB/s read/write speed then can i achieve max speed?

As far as i know that the new Sandy Bridge processors should support SATA v3.0

The X220 supports SATA III, or SATA 6Gbps regardless of CPU.

@Roger99,
I think you're thinking of USB 3.0, which is indeed only available on the i7 model (unless you add an ExpressCard one).
