error 0271 set date/time... Should I be worried?

I have the X1 carbon 5th generation and I received this error message and freaked out. I set the date and time in the bios but I'm worried it means that there's something else wrong with my laptop.

this does not seem like a normal error message? Is there anything I should be looking at? Thanks so much!

Welcome to the forums.

According to HMM(Hardware maintenance manual) page 38 you just have set the date and time.

I did this but I feel like the error is unusual and indicative of a bigger problem which is why I came here for advice.

Is this laptop still under warranty?  I personally have never seen it disconnect but I have seen cmos batteries go bad though but usually on older machines.

No it expired ugh

Yeah I mean, to me, it doesn't sound like my laptop is old enough to encounter this kind of problem.  I'm worried and backing up all my files.

Have you tried parts lookup?  You can put in your serial number.  Don't post here.  Click link below.  Choose CMOS battery on left column.
