expresscard won't fit in X200S

2012-08-30, 20:53 PM

Hi Y'all,

I have an X200S and bought a Sigg eSATA II 54mm expresscard, with dual E-SATA slots.

The card will only go a couple inches in the slot before something physically blocks it from completely installing.

What do I need to do differently?

Thanks and good health,  Weogo

Hi Sarbin,

Ok, with a brighter flashlight and more carefully looking,

I found a black twist-tie wedged in a corner!

How that got there, I have no clue.

A little careful poking and prodding and it is out, the card is in and working.

If you ever have any live audio questions, please let me know!

Thanks and good health,  Weogo

Hi Sarbin,

Thanks for the reply.

The card that I have, the one that won't insert fully, ison teh page you linked to and is the second one from the bottom, #SC-SAE512-S1.

Any ideas why it won't go in all the way?

Thanks and good health, Weogo

'welcome.

i'm sure you have looked... but does the slot seem clear to the connecter? nothing protruding into the space from the "shoulder"? i looked at my x220, with its ec54 slot, and the connector is clearly visible and unobstructed.

curious, indeed...
