inbuilt camera on Thinkpad X1 Carbon

Hi there. For some reason when I use my inbuilt camera for video conferencing across any app (eg: zoom. skype etc..) my image is totally overexposed (white and bright). Is there anyway to fix this? I have tried updating my drivers but they already seem to be up to date. thanks

Re: inbuilt camera on Thinkpad X1 Carbon

Hi! Welcome to our forums community. Did it work fine before? If yes, was there any changes or any updates installed before the issue arise? Could you try running the update and hardware scan from the Lenovo Vantage app? You can get the app here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/lenovo-vantage/9wzdncrfj4mv?activetab=pivotSmiley Surprisedverviewtab.

Yes it worked fine before. I  just uninstalled and then reinstalled the integrated camera driver but that didnt help. Only change I guess you can say is that I may have downloaded skype app but actually think I just use the browser anyway.

Re: inbuilt camera on Thinkpad X1 Carbon

Could you check and try the steps provided in this article https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/solutions/HT118432?CID=ww:lenovosocial:20x9m6 and see if this will fix the camera issue? Were you able to reinstall the Skype application and check if the camera will work? Try also to this Microsoft article https://support.microsoft.com/en-ph/help/4028647/windows-open-the-camera-in-windows-10 to see if the camera will work.

Let us know how it goes.
