Hi! Welcome to our forums community. Can you disable the Adaptive Brightness by following the steps here: https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/solutions/ht103104. If the issue persist, run the update from the Lenovo Vantage app and install all available updates.

Hey there, Stasoog!

Based from what you have said, this is a clear hardware problem with the ThinkPad X1 Carbon. We highly recommend bringing the laptop to a service provider https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/solutions/ht118678?CID=ww:lenovosocial:20x9m6 (filter by country/city) and check for a complete diagnosis/repair service. We hope everything will turn out smoothly.

Regards,
