question on touchpad for x220

2014-12-13, 5:07 AM

hello the trackpad seems misaligned (I think I handled it roughly which is why the mouse pointer isnt moving as it is anymore). I know there is a guide on detaching the palmrest from the laptop but there is no guide Ive seen in manuals/videos on how to disassemble the palmrest and touchpad itselft

Hi iceblitzed, You are right, there is no guide on how to disassemble the palmrest and touchpad itself. Can you post a photo showing what you mean by "misaligned". Perhaps a fellow X220 user has been in a similar situation and can help.
USB-C: Just cos it fits don't mean it works.
I don't work for Lenovo. I'm a crazy volunteer!

OS: Linux Mint 17 and Windows 7 Pro - problem happens in both

Warranty: None

Keyboard doesnt skip (not exactly sure what you mean tbh)

I don't think a photo would show much. Ill explain further. The lower right side of the touchpad is "dug deeper" into the palmrest and doesn't have that right usual sound when you click it (but it still works).

The touchpad was working fine but I mishandled it one day when I was taking apart the keyboard/palmrest to clean the fan so I don't believe its a defect.
