ssd for x201 vs x230

2020-02-13, 19:21 PM

Hi

I want to migrate from x201 to x230. It turns out, however, that the ssd I have, which is crucial mx300 has two metal parts sticking out that make it impossible to insert the disk.

Can anything be done about it at all or will I need a new ssd for x230?

Would x220 be incompatible with the ssd, too?

Which metal parts do you mean? This is standard 2.5" drive, 7 or 9.5 mm in height. If the drive has 7 mm to 9.5 mm spacer just remove it.

x220 • Gobi 2000 3g | hdd, msata ssd, wwan, wifi, gps -- unique hand-made config
ThinkPad 25 Special Anniversary Edition. #retro. Signed by D.Hill
T470p | X1 Carbon Gen3 | Miix 2 10" | Yoga Tablet 2-1050F (Android) + BT Keyboard
ThinkPad Stack • 2.4/5 Wireless Router, HDD 1 TB, BT Speaker, Power Bank, Mobile Projector

Do it well, worse becomes itself

Thanks, I meant casing. I have just sorted it. The casing can be removed, so the disk can be used in x230.
