the battery is not detected. try reinstalling or recharging the battery thinkpad x1 carbon

Hello,

I recently got battery issues where it can not be charged and keep 0%, a few minutes charging it gets to 100% but when I unplug the power its Off.

Got this message just now, "the battery is not detected. try reinstalling or recharging the battery"

So right now the battery is not working. When I plug the power however it says plugged in, charging.

Any idea how to debug this? is this a software issue or hardware?

thanks!

Re: the battery is not detected. try reinstalling or recharging the battery thinkpad x1 carbon

Hi Ahayaza,

Welcome to Lenovo Community!

To resolve this issue start the system connecting ‘Power Adapter’. Wait till the system to boot completely and then go to ‘Device Manager’ then uninstall ‘Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery’ under battery option.

After uninstalling shutdown the system, remove ‘Power Adapter’ and then connect the power adapter, let the system boot completely and check if it is charging.

Hope this helps.

Best regards,

Hemanth Kumar

Hi Hemanth,

Thanks for your reply.

After uninstalling the ACPI as advised and restart.

0% available, plugged in,charging. and a few seconds after , 99% available, pluggedin, not charging.

unplugged the power adapter shutdowns the laptop, seems that battery broken?

Any other ways to check?

Hi Ahayaza,

Thanks you for replying back!

May I know which Operating System you have installed?

Try to perform battery gauge reset option from “Power Manager” application. If you are having Windows 8 OS then you have to use Lenovo setting option.

Hope this helps.

Best regards,
